Rule 6B – Freight Forwarder Compensation

 

This is applicable for exports from Canada to Foreign Ports only:

Freight Forwarder Compensation: (C)

1. Freight Fowarder's commission is only applicable to ocean freight, excluding handling, landing & surcharges. Two and one-half percent (2 1/2%) will be paid on the net ocean freight segment of transportation to the extent of the value rendered in connection with any shipment on behalf of others. Compensation will only be paid only when the freight forwarder has performed the following services:

(A) Engaged, booked, secured, reserved, or contracted directly with the carrier or its agent for space aboard a vessel or confirmed the availability of that space or

(B) Prepared and processed the ocean bill of lading, dock receipt, or other similar document with respect to the shipmentException:

a) For shipments to Trinidad, two and a half percent (2 1/2%) of the total freight bill charges and surcharges assessed by this tariff

b) For intermodal shipments to Dominican Republic, one and one quarter (1 1/4%) of the total freight bill charges and surcharges assessed by this tariff

c) For shipments to Dominican Republic. Compensation only applies to 807 cargo consigned to a free zone.

d) For LCL shipments to Cayman Island, one and one half (1 1/2%) of the base ocean freight

2. Payment will only be once per shipment

3. When the Carrier has been requested to collect advances by the Freight Forwarder on Carrier's Bill of Lading, the Carrier will withhold payment of the advances to the Freight Forwarder until the Carrier has received payment for the Bill of Lading charges

4. Commission will only be payable for exports from Canada, this is not applicable to import shipments to Canada
