Bunker:  Except as otherwise provided, a mandatory Bunker Fuel Surcharge will be assessed on all shipments in addition to all other rates and charges published herein as follows:

     

A. Bunker Surcharge Application Between Canada and the Eastern Caribbean, Between Canada and Guyana, Between Canada and the Dominican Republic, or Between Canada and the British Virgin Islands: The bunker surcharge between Canada and the Eastern Caribbean ports of Anguilla, Antigua, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Nevis, St. Barths, St Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, St. Vincent, or Trinidad; between Canada and the South America Port of Guyana; between Canada and the Dominican Republic ports of Caucedo or Puerto Plata, or between Canada and the British Virgin Island Ports of Tortola or Virgin Gorda; shall be based on the following:

 

Bunker Surcharge Chart:

Carrier will charge the applicable bunker surcharge amount based on the average daily close of the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) price of oil as calculated each Monday for the prior four (4) weeks. Changes to the bunker surcharge will be implemented whenever the 4 week average WTI price change variation is greater than $2.49 per barrel. Tropical will round up or down the WTI average to the nearest dollar. Carrier shall publish in its tariff a Bunker Surcharge Chart that shows the various bunker surcharges by equipment size based on the published West Texas Intermediate (WTI) price per barrel as described.

 

Additionally, a chart will be posted on the Carrier’s website at www.tropical.com and published in the Carrier’s tariff for reference and application of the bunker surcharge amount. 

 

The WTI Cushing Spot Price

The current bunker surcharge is based on the WTI Cushing Spot Price of $77

Effective April 18, 2010 the bunker surcharge shall be based on the new WTI Cushing Spot price of $95 (A, C)

 

 

 

Review and Final Publication Date

The review date for the release of the average price of WTI for the prior 4 weeks and the new applicable bunker will be announced on the first Tuesday of each month. The new surcharge becomes effective for all tariff and contract commodities the second Sunday following the Tuesday announcement.

 

Forward Filing

Forward filed bunker surcharge changes will be based on $15 over the highest daily close for the prior 4 weeks.

The combination of publishing a table of adjustments, showing the daily average on Carrier’s website, and publishing the bunker adjustment as described, shall give the shipping public significant knowledge of where the bunker surcharge is trending at any given time.

    

 

Bunker Formula:

For every $1 change in the WTI four week running average Carrier will create an adjustment to the bunker surcharge based on the following scale:

B. Bunker Surcharge Application Between Canada and the Turks & Caicos Islands; Between Canada and the Cayman Islands or Between Canada and the Bahamas: The bunker surcharge application between Canada and the Turks & Caicos Ports of Providenciales, Grand Turk, South Caicos, West Caicos, or Dellis Cay; the bunker surcharge application between Canada and the Cayman Island Ports of Grand Cayman, Little Cayman, or Cayman Brac; and the bunker surcharge application between Canada and the Bahamas ports of Nassau, Freeport, or Marsh Harbour shall be based on the following:
