Re-Handling  

If a Shipper tenders cargo to the Carrier whereby the Carrier or Carrier's Agent issues a cargo receipt and at a subsequent time prior to sailing the Shipper requests Carrier's rehandling of cargo the following charges shall apply:

 

From Continental US, USVI, and Puerto Rico to all Ports:

Northbound LCL Re-Handling

If the Shipper or the Consignee requests that the Carrier provides delivery of northbound LCL cargo, the cargo will be assessed a re-handling charge as shown.  This charge will be to re-weigh, re-cube and re-secure the cargo.  The charge will be in addition to all other applicable charges, including inland and LCL Terminal Transfer Fee, and will be billed on a separate invoice.

In and Out Handling

If a Shipper tenders cargo to the Carrier whereby the Carrier or Carrier's Agent issues a cargo receipt and at a subsequent time the Shipper requests the cargo to be returned without exporting, then the Carrier will charge an In and Out Handling service fee as follows:

Air Freight Transfer Service Fee  

If a Shipper tenders LCL cargo to Carrier's South Florida Miami Container Freight Station (SFLA MIA CFS) whereby the Carrier or Carrier's Agent issues a cargo receipt and at a subsequent time prior to sailing the Shipper requests the Carrier to re-route the LCL cargo to an Air Freight provider within the South Florida area as specified below (See Note 1a) the Carrier will charge an Air Freight Transfer Service Fee as shown. The charge is in addition to In and Out Handling and all other applicable charges contained within Carrier’s tariff.

From the SFLA MIA CFS location to an Air Freight Provider within the South Florida area (See Note 1a)  the charge will be:
LCL Cargo..........$50.00 per shipment   (See also Note 1b)
LCL Cargo..........$100.00 per shipment (See also Note 1c)
Each service will only apply to a single shipment, not to exceed 112 cft and 8' of linear truck space.

Note 1:  a. Service only applies when Carrier transfers the LCL shipment to 12600 N.W. 107th Avenue Miami, FL
            b. If service is requested 4 or more hours before the receiving cut-off time at address in 1a.
            c. Expedited transfer service. If service is requested less than 4 hours before the receiving cut-off time at address in 1a, then Expedited transfer service

                will apply at $100.00, subject to inland carrier and space availability.
 

Backloading Services

Under conditions outlined below, Carrier or Carrier's Agent may provide a backloading service for shipper loaded full containers at its designated facility. Carrier will charge $1.00cwt/$.38cft, minimum $35.00 (whichever is the greater charge) of cargo backloaded into a shipper loaded full container. If Carrier or Carrier's Agent provides the drayage to the Carrier designated backloading facility then cargo will be subject to an Extra Stop charge per Rule 10.001.  The Extra Stop charge will be assessed in addition to the drayage rate from point of origin to port of loading.

 

This service is only available:

1.   When the Shipper requests, in writing, the Carrier or Carrier's Agent to provide a backloading service and the Shipper executes a properly endorsed Backloading Agreement.

2.   When the cargo to be backloaded is available at the Carrier's or Carrier's Agent designated facility in time to meet the Carrier established cut-offs for the scheduled booking.

3.    For non-bonded, non-hazardous cargo.

Copies of the Backloading Agreement will be made available upon written request to the Carrier.

 

Enhanced Export Packing

When a Shipper tenders cargo to the Carrier or Carrier's Agent with what Carrier determines is insufficient packing to ensure safe transport and the Carrier adds additional packaging such as corrugated cardboard, corner or edge guards, shrink-wrap or other material to further protect the cargo, then the Carrier will charge $1.00cwt/$.38cft subject to a minimum $35.00  (whichever is the greater charge) per piece of cargo secured.

    Exception:  Cargo originating in Miami, L.A., New Jersey or West Palm Beach which is destined to St. Lucia will not be assessed this charge.

 

Opening Packages  

If a Shipper tenders LCL non-hazardous cargo to Carrier or Carrier's Agent and at a subsequent time prior to sailing the Shipper/Consignee requests the Carrier open a package or packages for the purpose of obtaining a Packing Slip, verifying Piece Count, etc., the Carrier will charge a fee of $5.00 per piece opened. Package(s) will only be opened upon Shipper’s/Consignee's submission of a completed Hold Harmless Agreement which will be made available upon Shipper's/Consignee's written request to the Carrier.

 

Securing of Freight

When cargo is tendered to the Carrier or Carrier's Agent in a condition that will require what Carrier determines to be additional blocking, bracing, stacking or other means to more adequately secure the freight for safe transit, then the Carrier will charge $1.00cwt/$.38cft subject to a minimum $35.00 (whichever is the greater charge) per piece of cargo so secured.

 

Sorting and Segregating

When cargo tendered to Carrier or Carrier's Agent requires sorting or segregating of mixed packages for different shipments to assemble or dissemble the packages into or from one shipment then the Carrier will charge a handling service fee of $1.00cwt/$.38cft subject to a minimum $35.00 (whichever is the greater charge).
