Extra Length
Rates published in this tariff will apply on cargo not exceeding the length of the equipment type as specified by the
Carrier. Cargo exceeding the length of the equipment will be subject to the following charges in addition to the published
commodity rate:
1. Over 20' not exceeding 25' - 15% of the ocean freight rate. Cargo exceeding 25' must be moved on a 40' piece of equipment.
2. Over 40' not exceeding 45' - 15% of the ocean freight rate
3. Over 45' - 50% of the ocean freight rate. Special arrangements must be made with the carrier to accept the cargo.
Any cargo exceeding the length of a 20' equipment type may be loaded into/onto a 40' equipment type, at Carriers
convenience, and rated as a 40’ or a 20’ with extra length charges, whichever benefits the cargo.
Extra length charges are not applicable for cargo carried as Breakbulk.
Except as otherwise provided and subject to Carrier's option of acceptance, when cargo is loaded in/on equipment where
height of the cargo exceeds the normal height of the equipment post height to the extent that it hinders normal stacking,
stowage, or stevedoring of the equipment the following charges will apply:
1. 20’ equipment - 25% of the ocean freight rate.
2. 40’ equipment - 25% of the ocean freight rate.
3. Any cargo exceeding a height of 84” loaded on a post less Platform or Flat - 25% of the ocean freight rate.
Extra height charges are not applicable for cargo carried as Breakbulk
Exception: Freeport shall have a tolerance of one (1) foot before applying the Extra Height Charges.
Except as otherwise provided and subject to Carrier's option of acceptance, on pieces or packages where the width exceeds eight (8)
feet inches having an overhang the following charges apply:
1. Over 8' but not over 9' - 15% of the ocean freight rate.
2. Over 9' but not over 10' - 25% of the ocean freight rate.
3. Over 10' but not over 12' - 50% of the ocean freight rate.
4. Over 12' - 100% of the ocean freight rate. Special arrangements must be made with the carrier to accept the cargo.
Cargo received as a less than containerload shipment which cannot fit the maximum container door width or door height or cargo that
is longer than 19'6" shall be subject to a $250 surcharge. Cargo which cannot fit the maximum container door width or door height or
cargo that is longer than 19'6"shall move on a space available basis only.
