Rule 3.6: Special Equipment Surcharge(s) and Flatrack Securing

 

Special Equipment

Unless the equipment charge listed below is specifically provided for in the rate, the following Special Equipment Charge(s) shall apply on all moves.  Note, this charge does not apply to shipper owned equipment.

Special Equipment is defined as Carrier Owned Equipment - Tank, Open Top Container, Flatrack, Platform, Flatbed, or Lowboy.

The surcharge will apply to all shipments originating from the Continental United States to:

Tank, Open Top Container, Flatrack, Platform, Flatbed, or Lowboy $300.00 per 20' or 40' Equipment

 

NOTE 1: Applicable to Carrier-Owned Open Top Containers: When Customer requests a Tarp for an Open Top Container, Carrier shall provide the Tarp

at no additional charge. Upon completion of the shipment if the Customer fails to return the Tarp, or if the Tarp is returned damaged or in otherwise unusable

condition to the Carrier with the return of the equipment, the following charge will be applied to the bill to party for the Tarp.  (I, A) Effective 07/09/2017


        20' Open Top Equipment: $400.00                40' Open Top Equipment: $500.00

 

Flatrack with Post(s) Collapsed

In addition to the Special Equipment Charge listed above, all flatracks for ocean transportation with any of the posts collapsed or lowered will be subject to the charge set forth below:  

This surcharge will apply to all shipments to/from the USVI:

Shipper load or Carrier Load Equipment $100.00 per 20' or 40' Equipment

 

Flatrack Securing  Charges

 

Strapping   

When shipper loaded flatrack or flatbed equipment requires securing with strapping, the Carrier will provide same at the following charges. These are in addition to Carrier handling charges: 

All Ports 

 Straps supplied to, and applied by the Shipper

$10.00 per strap

Straps supplied to the Shipper, and applied by the Carrier

$15.00 per strap

   

CHAINS/BINDERS/HOOKS

When shipper loaded flatrack or flatbed equipment requires securing with chains/binders/hooks, the Carrier will provide same at the following charges. These are in addition to Carrier handling charges:                           

All Ports

Chains / Binders / Hooks supplied to, and applied by the Shipper

$40.00 per set

$50.00 per set (A)

Chains / Binders / Hooks supplied to the Shipper, and applied by the Carrier

$45.00 per set 

$60.00 per set (A)

 

 

VISQUEEN

Whenever cargo is loaded on flatrack or flatbed equipment and visqueen is requested, the Carrier will provide same at the following charges. These are in addition to Carrier handling charges:

Request for Photograph: When Customer requests that Carrier provide a photograph (or photographs) of Shipper or Carrier loaded FCL Flatrack Equipment prior to equipment being loaded

onboard vessel, the Carrier will assess the following charge. This charge is in addition to all other rates and charges published. (I, A) Effective 11/26/2023
