Tropical Shipping shall apply marine cargo insurance
coverage to all of its customers shipments in accordance with the terms and
conditions of this Tariff and Tropical Shipping’s Bill of Lading, unless such
coverage is declined prior to shipment via written shipping instructions (i.e.,
Shipper’s Letter of Instruction) or via a signed waiver form that may be
provided by customer at any time prior to a customer taking possession of its
shipment at final destination. The premium cost for marine cargo insurance
coverage shall be clearly itemized on the face of all bills of lading.
Insurance premiums are calculated, in part, on invoice value of the cargo.
Should shipper not provide the invoice value of the cargo at the time of
shipment, then the Carrier shall base the invoice value on an established
valuation formula as determined by the commodity. Certain commodities are
excluded from coverage. A copy of insurance rates, valuation formula and
exceptions can be obtained from the Carrier.
Note:
Household goods and personal effects are covered Free of Particular Average,
only upon Customer signing letter of acceptance.
